THE CHALLENGES FACING OUR SECTOR IN 2022 AND BEYOND
The ongoing effects of the pandemic, the impact of conflict and climate change, and the cost-of-living crisis have created a difficult environment for the charity and volunteering sector.
Drawing on our insight from the
Road Ahead and the
Civil Society Almanac, we'll discuss the challenges and opportunities facing our sector – including upcoming changes to government policy.
By the end of the session you'll:
- understand the external environment within which charities and volunteers are operating
- understand the policy changes that will impact your work
- have shared your experiences.
How has the voluntary sector in Norfolk and Suffolk dealt with the challenges of the past two years? how will the local sector deal with current and future challenges?
How has experiencing a big moment of sudden change affected the local voluntary sector? Have organisations learned to think differently about how they operate? And will that help them navigate other challenges such as the cost-of-living crisis, the conflict in Ukraine, or the climate crisis? Voluntary Norfolk and Community Action Norfolk will reflect on these questions, focusing on:
- sustainability and income diversification
- volunteering and workforce resilience.
By the end of the session you'll:
- have listened to and shared experiences
- have an understanding of how Voluntary Norfolk and Community Action Norfolk intend to respond to the issues raised.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND THE EVENT?
- Staff and trustees from NCVO member organisations across the east of England
- Staff and trustees from local non-member organisations
