Influencing select committees

  • 1 day
  • Campaigning and lobbying
This one-day course will help parliamentary, policy and campaigns staff develop strategies to engage with select committees, maximise the impact of their written submissions, and practical support in how to prepare senior colleagues to give oral evidence.
By the end of the day you will have:

  • select committees have changed since reforms to the House of Commons
  • select committee chairs are asserting their influence
  • newly emboldened committees are changing the way parliament works.

Who should attend

People working in parliamentary, policy and campaign roles who want to improve their engagement with committees, or develop their skills in writing effective submissions and how they prepare colleagues to give oral evidence.
