We’ve redesigned this face-to-face training specifically for online delivery, to ensure your learning needs are met though interactive, live sessions with knowledgeable trainers.
A strategy is not just the plan on paper: it is the process by which an organisation reaches agreement about its direction, priorities, and resources. Many charities are reviewing their financial position, structure and work priorities, including which things to stop doing. On this course, we will take a strategy-led approach to difficult decisions.
By the end of the course you will have:
- a clear articulation of your purpose and goals
- better understanding of your current work areas and their value
- developed key principles for approaching strategy and organisational development
- reviewed how to use strategy as a basis for restructure and organisational design processes
- considered how to build support and secure buy-in from across your organisation
- better awareness of tools that can support you.
Who should attend?
This course is designed for those involved with strategy, business planning and organisational development. This course will support participants to develop a process for strategy within their organisation and is aimed at decision-makers, such as senior leaders, CEOs, chairs and trustees. This course is designed for organisations with paid staff and those that are going through a process of cost saving and downsizing.
As a new employee to our organisation the training has given me the confidence to move forward with writing our plans and to move things on with the trustees at a pace that will ensure we have a finished 'product' within a reasonable time period.
I will definitely incorporate the tools we used today. They were very helpful.

The course is co-facilitated by Alex Farrow and Jenny Potkins.
